Fun & Efficient
New Amigos’ view is that an educational game can be as fun as a game that exists purely for entertainment while at the same time being as effective as any teaching tool. This is supported by the fact that the game was nominated for The Game of the Year in the Netherlands in 2006, the first educational game ever to be nominated in open class alongside pure entertainment games. As well as this, New Amigos was awarded the European Language Label in 2016.

The game includes 525 cards. These are categorised into: 420 language cards, 70 quiz cards, and 35 role-play cards. The language cards are divided into 12 decks of 35 cards, four decks for each level. All content is based on the most frequently used words -and sentences in a language and each level increase is characterised by an increase in volume and complexity. Vocabulary is logically grouped. In addition to building vocabulary of the most frequently spoken words, you learn how to build your own sentences and speak correctly in past, present and future tenses
One game takes 30 minutes and consists of a Home Round, Travel Round and Final. In each game, you learn to master six cards.
New Amigos has three levels, taking the players from zero prior knowledge to fluent conversation. Beginners and advanced alike can play together with an equal chance to win the game.
