Who can play?

The app also allows family and friends to learn a common target language. Players can play alone in the single player mode or with another person in the dual mode.

It is as fun as a game that exists purely for entertainment while at the same time being as effective as any teaching tool.

Repetition makes it possible to learn any language, from zero knowledge to fluent conversation (or 0 to B1 in The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Here are some of the modes and settings:

Single Player
Get to know the game in the single player mode, where you play against video files of native speakers of your target language. Repeat words and sentences loud and clear, so you can hear your own voice speak your chosen foreign language from the very start. You are your own judge.

Dual Player
Invite a member with a matching language interest and play face-to-face with video communication and learn together. You can also play as a teacher, as a student, prepare for an exam or be an examiner.

Off-Sync with Sound Lab
This module enables you to record and compare yourself with a native speaker, whenever it fits your schedule.

It plays in four different ways:

1. Two-way language exchange
   Play with a speaker of your target language that wants to learn your language. You engage in a daily routine by recording and sending video files to each other. You do not need to be online at the same time, so play Off-Sync whenever you can fit it into your schedule. Listen, record, compare, translate and evaluate.
2. One-way teaching
   Choose this setting if you only want to teach your language.
3. One-way learning
   Choose this setting if you only want to learn from a native speaker.
4. Single-Player
   Choose this setting if you want to do a daily routine with a pre-recorded native speaker.

Stats
Follow your day to day progression and watch as you move from zero knowledge to fluent conversation.

Chat
Chat with translation and listen to the foreign text. You can choose between male and female voices. You can chat with speakers of a number of languages. Note that you can also chat with family and friends when you have the same target language. You will then learn how to hold an everyday chat conversation in your target language.
